The DJI Zenmuse L1 is a very capable and easy-to-use LiDAR sensor that is reshaping the commercial market. At a significantly reduced cost than most sensors on the market the L1 democratizes LiDAR for the everyday surveyor and drone operator. This document aims to highlight the current workflow for collecting data, and creating, modifying, and delivering final products to clients using the L1 sensor. To carry this payload is the DJI M300 RTK, the current top-of-the-line quadcopter platform from DJI. With a 32 minute average max flight time, The M300 allows for a significantly large data collection area. Pairing this with the Robota RoboDot ground control station completes the whole package needed for an end-to-end data collection project. These tools combined truly allow for a flight crew to act completely autonomously without the need of outside survey support or corrections. Once familiar with this document, a small team can collect, process, and provide usable data to a client with ease, affordability, and a quick ROI.
