Draw Polygons Tool

This week we will review the Draw Polygons Tool in TerraScan. This tool will help draw polygons around classified points for quicker extraction. Follow along in this example where we used the tool to draw the tree line within a point cloud.

Steps:

1. Classify all trees and reclassify the outliers
2. Visit the TerraScan Tool bar and select the “Draw Polygons” tool
3. Change the class to tree. In this example, we used the “inside fence only” option as we have a boundary selected.
4. Unselect the “Favor 90 degree angles” option to make the shapes more natural. Select “OK” and then the tool will draw shapes around the tree class.
